ABOUT SEW IDEAS

Built for the fabric you bought first

Sew Ideas explores one focused question: what beginner-friendly garment patterns might work with the fabric already in your stash?

The problem

Most sewing databases begin with a pattern. That works when you know what you want to make, but it is awkward when you own 1-6 metres of fabric and need to work backwards. Fabric requirements vary by size, width, view and layout, so a simple numeric filter is rarely available.

The approach

This site keeps the job small. You describe the fabric, amount and skill level. A transparent rules engine compares those facts with a curated catalog and links you to original pattern pages. There is no account, stash dashboard or generated pattern.

What the beta is testing

The important signal is not whether visitors say the idea sounds good. It is whether they enter a real piece of fabric, inspect the explanation and open an original pattern page. Anonymous aggregate events help measure that journey.
